Sarah is a long time Bloomington resident dedicated to the wellness of her community

       

The Long Version:

Sarah enjoys the rewards and challenges in helping patients find their personal path to wellness. She is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and holds a license to practice acupuncture in the state of Indiana.

Additional Studies

In her continuing education studies, Sarah has completed the course “Acupuncture for the Cancer Patient” offered by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She has also studied Qigong and Tai Chi with Roger Jahnke and is enthusiastic about sharing this wonderful practice with her patients. Continually adding to her wealth of knowledge, she has also pursued additional studies in Advanced Tongue Diagnosis and maintaining wellness through nutrition

Other Interests

Sarah grew up in Indiana and has lived in Bloomington since 1998. In addition to her acupuncture training, she has also completed a Bachelors degree in music, magna cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters degree in music, magna cum laude, from Indiana University. She has also trained in the martial arts for over 18 years and assists her husband in running a Martial Arts school in Bloomington, Ryukyu Kyusho Family Martial Arts.

Sarah is an active freelance horn player in the Indianapolis area  and also enjoys running, qigong, tai chi, biking and is always kept busy enjoying her twin boys.

Mica Redden

Office Manager

The Short Version:

A Virginia native, Mica is currently serving the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music as the Associate Instructor of French Horn while in pursuit of their Doctor of Music degree. Mica enjoys Southern comfort food, cats, and all of the beautiful nature Bloomington has to offer. 

     

The Long Version:

Mica Redden grew up in the Shenandoah Valley nestled in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. They received their Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance at Virginia Commonwealth University, and their Master of Music degree in Horn Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Their teachers include Dale Clevenger, Jeff Nelsen, and Patrick Smith. Currently, Mica is the IU Jacobs School of Music as the Associate Instructor of Horn while completing their Doctor of Music degree. 


Mica is a sub with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, performs frequently with the Indianapolis Opera, Evansville Philharmonic, and Owensboro Symphony, and has performed with The Who, The Beach Boys, and Weird Al Yankovich. 


They maintain an active studio career in Indianapolis recording frequently for Disney and for music publishing companies such as Hal Leonard, Carl Fischer, Shawnee Press, and Alfred Music. 


An active chamber musician, Mica joined horn quartet RÜM (formerly Skylark Quartet) in 2017. The group was a featured artist at the VCU and Eastern Illinois University Horn Days, respectively, in 2018. And, in 2019, Mica founded the horn and steel drum sensation, Julia's Child. 


In their time away from the horn, Mica is an active composer and arranger whose works have been performed worldwide. Favorite hobbies include spending time with their husband, snuggling all the cats, and baking sourdough bread.

NCCAOM

National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) - the board certification organization for acupuncture. This site also has resources to find other board certified acupuncturists and Oriental Medicine practitioners all over the country.

IIQTC

Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi – this is one of the certification organization for Tai Chi and Qigong instruction of which Sarah is certified to teach Qigong and Tai Chi.

Covid-19 Response

Green Roads Acupuncture's new procedures

In addition to our normal disinfectant protocol, here is a list of additional measure that will be taken to assure the safest environment possible during your visit.

  • All patients, practitioner, and staff are required to wear a properly fitted mask at all times.
  • All door handles and common surfaces will be cleaned between each patient visit.
  • Office iPads, pens, computers and phone will be cleaned between each patient visit.
  • Schedule will be adjusted to accommodate extra cleaning and proper social distancing between patients. 
  • Most importantly, if I become ill, I will cancel or reschedule your appointment


Please contact us to reschedule your appointment if: 


  • ...you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
  •  ...you have tested positive for COVID-19.
  • ...you develop symptoms consistent with a COVID-19 infection.


People who develop symptoms again within 3 months of their first bout of COVID-19 may need to be tested again if there is no other cause identified for their symptoms.


You may return for your appointment:


  • 10 days after symptoms first appear AND
  • 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications AND
  • Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving*
  • People who are severely ill with COVID-19 might need to stay home longer than 10 days and up to 20 days after symptoms first appeared. Your healthcare provider will let you know if you can resume being around other people based on the results of your testing.
  • People who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated against the disease within the last three months and show no symptoms. 


*Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation​


Close contact means:


  • You were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more
  • You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19
  • You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them)
  • You shared eating or drinking utensils
  • They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you


At this point in time, Green Roads Acupuncture doesn't have the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to treat a patient positive with an active case of the Covid-19 virus.  If you have symptoms of being ill, please cancel or reschedule your appointment.
