Qigong and Tai Chi use natural body movement, breathing, meditation and self-massage to bring the body into a calm state of balance that optimizes its self-healing capacity.
Sarah Greene is a certified instructor in Qigong and Tai Chi through the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. In addition to her certification, Sarah is a Board Certified State Licensed Acupuncturist; qigong being an integral component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition to her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine as an acupuncturist, Sarah also brings decades of experience from training and instruction in multiple martial arts. Maintaining a regular qigong, breathing and meditation practice of her own is a valuable component to her teaching as she sees the benefits of inspiring by example.
These movements are simple, yet profound. Using the breath to connect the mind and body allows us to fully experience the moment. "Learning something new" is the thing that is most recommended by expert to counteract cognitive decline. Tai Chi and Qigong fine tunes the muscles that help maintain balance. Physical, Mental and Emotional stress pulls our body out of balance. This practice engages our Parasympathetic Nervous System (calming and restorative) which allows the body to come back into harmony. It is encouraging to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who share a passion for wellness, self-care, and holistic practices.
The class series will focus on an introduction to foundations of Tai Chi and a simple accessible Tai Chi form. Qigong exercises will be incorporated in each class. Sarah creates a comfortable supportive learning environment to explore these meditative movements, breath work, and mindfulness.
Attending the entire series is encouraged as it will help you to learn and retain the introductory Tai Chi sequence. Dropping into individual classes is acceptable and welcome as the movements are relatively simple and easy to follow along and will give you the relaxation, mind/body connection and mindfulness experience of the class itself.
Thanks to all those who attended the Fall 2023 sessions! If you'd like to join our class contact list to get updates please send us an email to: sarah@greenroadsacupuncture.com
